Dear Friends,

.....We would like to begin this Newsletter by thanking all of you for sharing evenings with us at some of the great venues at which we have performed. Your continued support is always greatly appreciated!

.....Spring is here and a lot of new and exciting events are blooming! First of all, I know a lot of you are wondering when the CD that you have been hearing about week after week is going to finally be done. Well, here’s the scoop; It’s in its final stages, and barring any unforeseen roadblocks, it will be out and available sometime in June!

.....Over the last year and a half, the process of producing this album has been an unforgettable experience. Having had the opportunity to play and record with such talented musicians as John Ray on bass, Kevin Dunn on drums, Carl Fisher on trumpet, Jeff Lang on sax, Brian Unger on guitar, and the late great Bobby Forrester on the Hammond B3, the experience will forever be a cherished time in my heart.

.....Of course this project would not have become a reality without the incredible talents and inspiration of my dear friend and musical director Jim Ahrend. His arrangements and piano virtuosity have lifted this project to a much higher dimension. My respect, my gratitude, and my love will be his forever.

.....Last but not least, the two Executive Producers, who, at this time, prefer to remain anonymous, have been the "Fuel" and the "Captain at the helm" of this project.

.....Without either of them this endeavor would never have come to fruition. I just want to express my thanks and say I love you both of you.

.....Now for some exciting new things! As some of you know, since late February, Jim and I have been performing at Meritage in Bellport every Thursday night. This has been a great experience for us because after a 2 year hiatus from Bellport, we’ve returned and have been reunited with a lot of our old friends. We have been received with open arms on our old stomping grounds and we greatly appreciate it! We encourage everyone to visit this great oasis in the heart of Bellport, and let hosts Keith and Rich show you their warm hospitality while enjoying a great meal, fine service and hopefully, some of your favorite music. Hope to see you there soon!

.....Many of you have experienced the beautiful atmosphere that we enjoy playing in every Saturday. For those of you who haven’t experienced it, it is a must! Of course, we are talking about Collins and Main in Sayville. Begin your evening with a beautiful dinner prepared by chef Anthony Russo, while listening to Jim Ahrend tickling the ivories. Your gracious hosts, Vincent and Jerry, are always ready and willing to make your evening a memorable delight. After dinner, retreat to the relaxing lounge filled with overstuffed couches, comfortable chairs and warm candlelight. Enjoy what we hope is your favorite music, while sipping an after dinner drink or two or maybe even some dessert, if you have any room left!

.....We also would like to mention our friends at Trattoria Grasso in Cold Spring Harbor. Host Gail Grasso and her staff always bestow excellence in all that they offer. Enjoy a sumptuous dinner while enjoying some of the best Jazz around. We always love playing there and hope to be back soon. Be sure to catch some of the great performances being offered at the Cold Spring Harbor Cultural Center as well. Musical director Ernie Byrd always strives for musical excellence. You can be assured that whoever is playing at either venue will be a real treat.

.....Now to the future! Mark your calendars for June 20th! St. John’s Greek Church in Blue Point has asked us to perform for them at their annual festival! This is going to be an exciting night! For anyone who hasn’t been to this festival before, make sure you bring your appetite and your dancing shoes! Jim and I will be playing with some of the most talented musicians around. The roster will include Kevin Dunn on drums, who has recorded with Luther Vandross and Vanessa Williams, just to mention a few. The incomparable John Ray will be walking the bass. John, an icon in jazz circles, has played with many jazz greats, including Buddy Rich, and has been featured on hundreds of recordings worldwide. To complete this amazing group, the one and only Jerry Weldon will be on sax. Jerry is one of the giants in the jazz world. He is world-renowned and has played with the great Lionel Hampton and currently tours and records with Harry Connick Jr. Don’t know about you, but we can’t wait! Make sure you bring your friends, neighbors and kids. This will be an event for all to enjoy!

.....Stay tuned also for another exciting event that is in the making. We are currently working on the details to bring you an evening of "Dinner With The Great Ladies of Jazz" in July. This will be an incredible 3 course extravaganza of fabulous food! All the while, I will be serenading with a full band performing the great tunes made famous by Ella, Billie, Rosemary and others. We will keep you informed with breaking news.

.....There are a number of other events that are in the works. We are planning to be playing at some of the vineyards and fine restaurants on the North Fork this summer. Plans are to also venture into Manhattan and play some of the great clubs in our wonderful city. We are also ironing out the details for the CD release party. We’ll keep you posted!

.....Last but not least, my web site is up and running. Please feel free to browse through it and sign the guestbook. It has a complete schedule and directions to all of our events. It is still a work in progress, but you can read a short or very long bio, see some great pictures, contact us for a private party, and soon you will be able to hear some of our music. So stop on by at, www.allisonparis.com. Here’s hoping that your spring is a happy one!

Love and peace

The End!!
