Dear
Friends,
.....Once again, I would like to express my gratitude
to all of you who have come down to our many different performances
and shown your kindness and support.
.....We're
very pleased to say that the initial response to the album has been great.
We continue to receive many compliments from those who have already heard
it. It is also currently being listened to and critiqued by a number of music
critics, and we are hoping they feel the same way. Keep checking the web site
for those reviews - and keep your fingers crossed for us! Love
and peace The
End!!
.....Summer is in full bloom and has brought
with it all sorts of exciting news and happenings.
.....First
of all, the appearances at Pindar Vineyards were not only received very well,
but also gave me the opportunity and the pleasure to be teamed with another
great musician, guitarist Mark Marino. Mark's guitar playing can only be described
as a thing of beauty. If you haven't experienced an afternoon at the vineyards,
we highly recommend it! They have music almost every weekend, and you can
bring a picnic lunch and sit back and enjoy the music and scenery.
.....Another
very successful and exciting event was "Dinner with the Great Ladies
of Jazz", which was held at Collins and Main in Sayville on July 13th.
This sold out performance gave me, once again, the pleasure to be united with
some of the tremendous musicians that appear on my album and also included,
as special guest on saxophone, the incomparable Jerry Weldon.
.....The
response has been so great that an encore performance has been scheduled for
Sunday, November 2nd. This performance will once again feature Kevin Dunn
on drums, John Ray on bass, and Jim Ahrend on piano. Our special guest for
the evening will be Mark Marino on guitar. This promises to be another fabulous
night of culinary artistry and great music. Make reservations early and don't
get shut out! Call Collins and Main at (631) 563-0805. Also don't forget,
every Saturday evening you can enjoy listening to Jim and Allison from 8:30
to midnight in the beautiful lounge at Collins and Main.
.....We
also would like to thank the many loyal fans that have been gracing us every
Thursday night at the wonderful Meritage Restaurant in Bellport. We have made
many new friends and have also been reunited with a lot of dear old friends
as well. The 'dining with live music' experience seems to be the talk of the
town, and is becoming extremely popular. If you haven't visited Meritage yet,
please make time and do so. It promises to delight all your senses.
.....The
first day of summer this year will be a day that I will remember always. After
almost 2 years of work and collaboration with some of the finest musicians
and technicians in the music industry, my debut album " Second Chances"
was finally released! The release event took place at the St.
John's Greek Festival. The weather reports weren't the most cooperative, but
the crowds still came. It was a special venue for the album to be presented
for the first time, and I would like to thank Fr. John and the St. John's
community for their help and support in making our album launch such a success.
.....Since
so many of you have also been asking, The album is currently available for
purchase through my web site, www.allisonparis.com . We are currently working
on getting "PayPal" on our site, which will allow you to purchase
the CD with a credit card. For the time being, only checks are being accepted.
Also on the web site, you can listen to and download snippets of the songs
from the album. Please be sure to sign the guestbook, and let us know what
you think!
.....And
now for a look towards the future! August is bringing us back to the North
Shore. On Friday, August 22nd, we will be returning to the beautiful Trattoria
Grasso in Cold Spring Harbor with John Ray on bass and Scott Balin on piano.
The food is great and the atmosphere serene. Many great musicians play there,
and you never know who may stop by and sit in for a song or two.
.....On
Friday, August 29th, we will be performing, for the first time, at a great
jazz club in Huntington, The 69 Wall Street Lounge. If you want to truly experience
a 'Manhattan' jazz club without traveling into the city, this is the place.
I will be joined by Bob Leto on drums, John Ray on bass and Kenny Mackenzie
on piano. We hope to have a good showing of fans so that we may be asked back,
so come on down!
.....There
are also a few events we are working on for September, but we haven't solidified
any dates yet. Stay tuned!
.....Please

Stoller for the incredible job she has done and continues to do.
